Adding On: Santorini

Lots of people choose to add on to their Rick Steves trips with other locations while they are in the area! We added on a little trip to Santorini. Even though this was not a Rick Steves tour, we definitely did it "in the style of Rick Steves". Using our Rick Steves book we were able to know where to stay, how to find a local guide, and what kinds of places to explore! It felt like the entire tour taught us how to be free on our own, and we enjoyed this section of our trip so much!

Sunset Cruise

After checking into our hotel on Kamari beach, we navigated to the docks to catch our catamaran dinner and sunset cruise! We went to various locations around the island to go snorkeling and see some of the coastline. Our dinner was cooked on the boat and was delicious! That cruise was the highlight of our trip for many members of my family! Not only was the sunset beautiful, but the food and service was spectacular!

Local Tour

The next day we had a local guide escort us all over the island. With this company, you could either do a pre-prepared tour, or you could suggest locations and activities, and the guide would take you there. He was very helpful in getting us to the most popular places before all of the cruise ships came to shore! We visited Oia right away in the morning, and then he helped us choose other activities like wine tasting and visiting other sites!
